Our mission is to support the growth and distribution of food in our community, using new and existing resources.  Our harvest is available to everyone.

Our goals are to bring people together in inclusive and inviting spaces to grow food, learn together, strengthen connections, and build on existing community resources.

Our values: No one should go hungry. Everyone’s efforts to feed our community are valuable and deserve support. Every kind of participation counts.

Mitchell Giving Gardens is fueled by volunteers, a dedicated garden coordinator, and partnerships with local organizations.

We organize our efforts through committees that focus on growing and sharing, community engagement, developing resources, and steering the organization.

Our raised beds are located at the west end of Spruce Pine’s Riverside Park. This is our first location, and its public visibility helps raise awareness, build support, and encourage action on local food insecurity.
