Why Give?

Help put fresh food
on local tables

Your donation helps ensure that fresh, healthy, locally grown food reaches families, seniors, and individuals facing food insecurity in Mitchell County and beyond!

Empower local
resilience

When you give, you’re investing in a stronger, more self-sufficient community where people are connected through growing and sharing food.

Support hands-on
education

Mitchell Giving Gardens offers garden-based learning opportunities for all ages—from school children to older adults—teaching valuable skills in growing, harvesting, and cooking fresh produce.

Be part of
a change

Donating to Mitchell Giving Gardens means joining a movement toward equitable food systems, environmental stewardship, and community care.

Every dollar you give
stays local

Your contribution directly benefits your neighbors and supports programs rooted right here in Western North Carolina.

Cultivate Wholeness

Our regenerative gardening practices don’t just grow food—they nurture the land and foster mental, emotional, and physical well-being for all who participate.

Our Volunteers

The WNCStrong Youth Service Corps engages young people in service learning focused on agriculture, disaster recovery, and community building. Youth participants gain invaluable hands-on experience through paid internships while contributing to a stronger local food system. Through this program, the next generation learns the value of service and stewardship in growing a resilient future.
